HSE Officer

Job Purpose

The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies at Oscar Lubricants. The role supports the QHSE Manager by monitoring workplace safety, conducting inspections, providing training, and promoting a safe and environmentally responsible culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce adherence to company HSE policies, procedures, and ISO 45001 standards.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
• Identify hazards and unsafe conditions, and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safe handling of chemicals, lubricants, and machinery.
• Support the implementation of ISO 14001 environmental standards and regulations.
• Monitor proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
• Assist in initiatives to reduce environmental impact, including energy and water conservation.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain accurate HSE records, including incident reports, audits, and training logs.
• Report HSE performance and incidents to the QHSE Manager regularly.
• Conduct HSE training sessions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings for employees.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and environmental responsibility.
• Ensure staff are aware of emergency procedures and safety protocols.
• Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans and drills.
• Ensure availability and proper maintenance of fire-fighting equipment, first aid kits, and emergency signage.
• Coordinate with relevant teams during emergencies to minimize risks and ensure safety.
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Logistics teams to ensure HSE compliance in daily operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve HSE practices and processes.
• Support internal and external audits and inspections.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in HSE, preferably in chemicals, lubricants, or manufacturing operations.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and local HSE regulations.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
• Good communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and proactive approach to safety management.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED3,200.00 per month
