Responsibilities

• Ensure all company policies surrounding HSE are met.
• Host and lead audits (internal, clients and authorities).
• Fully accountable for achieving all relevant KPIs and metrics.
• Prepare health and safety plans and support the continuous development of internal policy.
• Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
• Be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and maintenance of the Health, Safety and Environmental systems.
• Report to management on the performance of the HSE systems and any need for improvement.
• Assess legislative requirements applicable to operations and, where appropriate, implement policies and procedures to ensure effective implementation and compliance.
• Record incidents and accidents, producing statistics for managers.
• Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training.
• Liaise closely with other operational teams to ensure continuous improvement of all systems and processes.
• Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain knowledge of all Health and Safety legislation and developments affecting the industry.
• Monitor and analyze technical and legal standards.
• Advise on specialist areas (e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, occupational diseases).
• Carry out other duties as reasonably required by line/direct manager.
• Assist with developing practical, workable processes that reduce HSE risks.
• Support operational teams with risk assessments and appropriate controls.
• Ensure assessments required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals with records maintained.
• Investigate incidents to identify root causes and improvements to prevent recurrence; support and conduct training as necessary (new hire safety orientation, SSE program, monthly safety training, annual refresher) in accordance with local and NOV regulatory requirements.
• Proper handling and management of waste and raw materials, including labeling, inspections, training documentation, accumulation times, and disposal.
• Conduct internal audits per ISO standards and NOV HSE procedures; present audit findings and recommendations to location management.

Qualifications and Experience

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
• Graduate in Engineering or Diploma.
• Working knowledge of HSE systems (ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001).
• Experience in HSE management and incident investigation.
• At least 2-5 years of experience in the related field, preferably oil and gas.
• Thorough knowledge of Saudi Arabia HSE legislations and industry standards.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge and experience in operation, implementation and management of HSE management systems.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Relevant experience in an HSE advisory role within the oil and gas industry.
