About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Officer to join our growing team in Ecuador. The HR Officer will manage daily human resources operations, support recruitment and employee relations, and ensure compliance with Ecuadorian labor regulations.
This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of local employment law, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Prepare employment offers, contracts, and onboarding materials.
- Conduct orientations to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
HR Administration & Compliance
- Maintain and update employee records in HR systems.
- Ensure full compliance with Ecuadorian labor laws, including IESS and contract regulations.
- Prepare HR-related documentation and reports as required.
Employee Relations
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and HR support.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.
- Assist in resolving employee concerns and support disciplinary processes when needed.
Payroll & Benefits
- Coordinate payroll with finance or external providers.
- Manage benefits administration (social security, vacation, sick leave, etc.).
- Support health and wellness initiatives.
Performance & Development
- Assist in performance monitoring and appraisals.
- Support employee training and professional development initiatives.
Local Labor Laws
- Ensure company policies and practices comply with local labor regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws, including working hours, wages, terminations, and employee rights.
- Prepare and manage employment contracts in accordance with legal standards.
- Support audits and documentation required by labor authorities.
- Advise management on any changes or updates to local employment laws and ensure timely implementation.
- Handle government reporting, permits, and statutory filings related to employment compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience (preferably in a multinational or remote environment).
- Strong knowledge of Ecuadorian labor law and HR compliance.
- Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English.
- Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS platforms (e.g., Zoho People, BambooHR).
- Strong attention to detail, discretion, and organizational skills.
- Must have advanced proficiency in English. (English and Spanish needed)
Preferred:
- Familiarity with international HR practices or remote workforce management.
- HR certification (preferred but not required).
