SUMMARY
The HR Generalist is responsible for providing support to the Human Resources Department. This includes the maintenance of employee files and records. A high degree of confidentiality and attentiveness to detail is required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and maintain employee personnel, health, and payroll files
- Coordinate pre-employment hiring process (background check, job reference check, drug screen, testing, obtaining certifications, and new hire paperwork)
- Create employee handbooks
- File/scan employee reports, records, updates, etc.
- Maintain employee confidentiality
- Maintain employee certifications
- Report new hires and terminations to state agencies
- Organize, coordinate, and conduct new hire orientations
- Process wage and employment verifications
- Maintain employee databases
- Track and assist with Employee Performance Reviews
- Serve as backup to HR Benefit Specialist with benefit responsibilities
- Serve as backup to Payroll responsibilities
- Assist HR Team with miscellaneous clerical duties
- Responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures
- Other duties as deemed necessary
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two full years employment history
- Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and other office systems
- Data Entry skills
- Current state driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Negative DOT drug screen
- Ability to interact effectively with employees
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Detailed in thought and execution
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to maintain attentiveness to detail
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous Human Resources / Benefit experience
- Effective knowledge of emergency medical services
- Previous experience with MAS90 accounting software
