Eliza Jennings, a not-for-profit organization and recognized leader in Greater Cleveland for providing long-term care and community-based services to older adults, is seeking a full-time Human Resources Assistant.

Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and employee relations matters.

Assist and provide administrative support to senior HR leadership in carrying out department-wide initiatives.

Maintain and organize all employment applications and supporting documentation for individuals eligible to work in the facility, including resumes, reference checks, and background screenings.

Manage and ensure compliance of the personnel filing system in accordance with company standards and applicable employment regulations.

Coordinate building-level recruitment efforts for key frontline and support positions, including posting openings, screening applicants, scheduling and conducting initial interviews, and facilitating hiring decisions with department leaders.

Complete all pre-employment screenings and conduct thorough new hire orientations.

Coordinate and distribute onboarding materials; ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained within the HRIS system.

Support employee engagement and retention efforts, including developing recognition programs and coordinating employee appreciation events.

Provide administrative support related to union matters and activities.

Assist in planning, organizing, and facilitating staff meetings, trainings, and educational sessions.

Collaborate closely with the Executive Director, department leaders, and HR leadership to advance the organization’s Mission and foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

1+ year of experience in human resources or a related administrative support role.

Experience with HRIS platforms, particularly ADP, strongly preferred.

Prior union experience a plus.

Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and confidentiality.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
