Position Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic partner to business leaders by aligning people strategies with business objectives. This role partners closely with leaders and Human Resources Centers of Excellence (COEs) to support organizational effectiveness, talent planning, performance management, employee engagement, workforce planning, change management, and employee relations.

The HRBP provides consultative support to leaders and helps drive people-related decisions that support business growth, organizational health, and a high-performing culture. This role is responsible for translating business needs into people strategies and ensuring a consistent employee experience through strong partnership with COE teams including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR Operations, Learning & Development, Compliance, and HR Systems.

This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Partnership & Strategic Support

  • Partner with leaders to understand business priorities, operational challenges, and workforce needs, and translate them into actionable people strategies.
  • Provide consultative guidance to leaders on organizational design, team effectiveness, succession planning, workforce planning, and talent strategies.
  • Support leaders through organizational change, including restructures, role clarity, communication planning, and change management initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership to identify opportunities to improve employee engagement, team effectiveness, and organizational performance.

Talent & Performance Management

  • Coach leaders on performance management practices, goal setting, feedback, accountability, and development planning.
  • Support talent review, succession planning, and identification of high-potential talent across supported business functions.
  • Partner with Learning & Development to identify leadership and team development needs and support execution of development strategies.
  • Help leaders build and maintain a high-performance culture aligned with company values and expectations.

Employee Relations & Leadership Coaching

  • Provide guidance and support to leaders on employee relations matters, including performance concerns, policy interpretation, corrective action, investigations, and sensitive workplace issues.
  • Partner with the appropriate HR COEs and Legal, as needed, to ensure consistency and appropriate risk management.
  • Coach leaders through complex employee situations while balancing employee experience, compliance, and business needs.
  • Identify trends in employee relations issues and recommend proactive solutions.

Organizational Effectiveness & Change Management

  • Support leaders through business transformation, organizational changes, integration efforts, and evolving team structures.
  • Help assess organizational health and recommend strategies to improve communication, leadership effectiveness, and employee experience.
  • Partner across HR to support the rollout and adoption of enterprise-wide people programs, processes, and initiatives.
  • Serve as a change champion by helping leaders navigate ambiguity and communicate effectively through change.

Data, Insights & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Leverage people data, trends, and metrics to identify opportunities, risks, and recommendations for business leaders.
  • Partner with COEs to deliver HR solutions in areas such as compensation, talent acquisition, employee experience, HR systems, and policy implementation.
  • Help ensure HR programs and practices are implemented consistently and effectively across the supported client groups.
  • Participate in special projects and enterprise HR initiatives that support company growth and integration.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience supporting leaders in a consultative HR capacity.
  • Experience partnering with leaders on employee relations, organizational effectiveness, performance management, and talent planning.
  • Experience working within or alongside a Center of Excellence HR model strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting organizational change, restructures, or business transformation efforts preferred.
  • Experience in multi-state, fast-paced, high-growth environments preferred.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to align people strategies to operational goals.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong coaching, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively across functions.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and helping leaders through change.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make practical recommendations.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems/HRIS platforms.

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Indoor work in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Sedentary work primarily involving sitting for extended periods of time.
