Capitol Lakes is proud to be Madison’s premier not-for-profit Life Plan Community. Located in the heart of downtown, our residents enjoy the energy of a vibrant college town along with exceptional dining and a full continuum of care including Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing.
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to join our leadership team and support a dedicated workforce of approximately 200 employees.

Salary Range: $113,600 – $135,000 annually, depending on experience.
This role partners closely with the Executive Director and community leadership team to help shape culture, strengthen the employee experience, and support operational success.

What You’ll Do
HR Leadership
-
Lead all Human Resources operations and initiatives for the community

Align HR practices with PRS Core Values: We Speak Up, We Step Up, We Lift Up, We Team Up
Talent & Workforce Development

Partner with leaders on hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning

Support leadership development, coaching, and team training initiatives
Employee Experience

Use HR insights and metrics to identify opportunities to improve engagement and retention

Support recognition programs, communication efforts, and team-building initiatives
HR Operations & Compliance

Manage employee relations, performance management, compensation, and benefits

Oversee workers’ compensation, return-to-work programs, and compliance with employment laws
Team Leadership & Systems

Supervise HR staff and maintain HRIS, payroll, and scheduling systems that support efficient operations
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

Minimum 5 years of HR Generalist experience

Minimum 3 years of progressive HR leadership experience

Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
Preferred
-
SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP / SPHR / PHR certification

Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or service-based organizations

Experience supporting organizations of similar size

Proficiency with HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office
