Job Responsibilities:
Supports HR and organizational initiatives including, but not limited to, performance management, talent planning, employee engagement, employee relations, turnover goals, and retention efforts.
Advise line managers on personnel procedures, policies, and best practices.
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Support career development initiatives and provide guidance on training opportunities.
Workday – supporting managers to utilize system effectively, upskilling colleagues where required or signposting to relevant support.
Investigate and resolve day-to-day employee relations issues, ensuring a positive work environment.
Supporting investigations and assist Supervisor/Mangers with disciplinary actions.
Provide advice to managers on wage structures and compensation-related queries.
Maintain accurate HR records and ensure data integrity in HRIS systems.
Employee engagement survey – support site with quarterly communications, roll out, involved in engagement activities and action planning process.
Track and monitor attendance issues.
Reviewing and updating job descriptions
Participate in the recruitment process, including job postings, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews, and onboarding.
Creation of employee data reports as and when required using Workday.
Regular contributor to site meetings and other site communications
Champion and administer the company Reward platform – Alkegen Appreciation
Collaborate with the HR team on various projects and initiatives to improve HR functions and employee engagement.
Education:
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues in a union environment.
Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task, deal with ambiguity and challenge the status quo in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to influence and engage.
Comfortable with analyzing data, identifying trends, and making appropriate recommendations.
Workday experience would be an advantage.
Demonstrated competency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to oversee sensitive information with confidentiality.
