Position Summary

The HR Generalist provides comprehensive human resources support across all programs of Concept Health Systems, Inc. This role is responsible for recruitment, employee relations, compliance with state/federal employment laws, training coordination, performance management processes, and ensuring HR policies are consistently applied. The HR Generalist plays a vital role in supporting staff and leadership, promoting fair and transparent practices, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and reference checks.

- Coordinate new hire onboarding, ensuring completion of background screenings, credentialing, and compliance with DCF, AHCA, and CHS requirements.

- Conduct employee orientations and maintain accurate personnel records.

Employee Relations & Support

- Serve as the first point of contact for staff regarding HR policies, procedures, and concerns.

- Support progressive discipline and counseling processes, ensuring documentation and compliance with CHS Employee Handbook.

- Mediate employee disputes and provide guidance to supervisors on employee relations issues.

Compliance & Recordkeeping

- Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO requirements.

- Maintain personnel files, ensuring completeness, confidentiality, and adherence to audit standards.

- Track credential verification and assist with licensure renewals and background screenings.

Training & Development

- Coordinate mandatory trainings (HIPAA, sexual harassment prevention, 42 CFR Part 2, 65D-30 compliance).

- Support leadership in developing staff education plans and maintaining training records.

- Assist with succession planning and staff development initiatives.

Performance Management

- Oversee timely completion of annual performance evaluations.

- Support supervisors in goal setting, performance coaching, and corrective action planning.

- Monitor probationary reviews and document progress.

Compensation & Benefits

- Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee inquiries.

- Coordinate leave of absence requests (FMLA, personal leave, PTO).

- Support payroll with HR-related updates (new hires, terminations, pay adjustments).

Other Duties

- Support audits by funders, licensing bodies, and regulators by providing required HR documentation.

- Assist leadership with workforce reporting (turnover, overtime analysis, credential compliance).

- Participate in staff wellness and engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required (Master’s preferred).

- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit sector.

- Knowledge of Florida employment laws, DCF/65D-30 regulations, and healthcare HR compliance.

- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.

- Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Working Conditions

- Standard office environment with interaction across CHS sites.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information.
- Some local travel required.
