Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for the functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring staff, administering pay, benefits, leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Duties/Responsibilities (Human Resources):

· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

· Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

· Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

· Creates/processes new hire paperwork and initiation through Paycor Payroll/HRIS system.

· Updates files as needed (title changes, name changes, pay changes, etc.)

· Implements new hire orientation.

· Creates a positive employee relations environment which enhances strong employee relations and high-level performance and lead by example.

· Maintains and coordinates employee recognition/employee engagement programs.

· Performs routine tasks required to create, administer, and execute human resources programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

· Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

· Maintain personnel files up-to-date and in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

· Assist Finance Department with annual audit and provide any appropriate approvals and/or supporting documentation needed.

· Assist with the coordination of employee events and training sessions.

· Flexible to deal with issues that arise outside of normal business hours.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Participates in Michigan Primary Care Association (MPCA) HR related workgroups.

· Manages HR Budget.

· Maintain, update, and manage all of CBH Insurance policies (Malpractice, Liability, etc.).

· Work with payroll as a double verification, ensuring that proper earning and deduction codes are turned off and on when appropriate.

Duties/Responsibilities (Credentialing):

· Liaison between CBH office and credentialing company.

· Oversee the end-to-end credentialing process for medical staff, including physicians, nurses, and behavioral health professionals.

· Responsible for the collection of all organization specific documents.

· Research facility or physician enrollment and credentialing related issues.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s practices and procedures.

Education/Experience:

· Associate degree in Human Resources, Office/Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience required.

· Three to five years of human resources generalist experience required.

. Healthcare experience desired, but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
