SUMMARY: Human Resources Generalist, applies employment laws, collective bargaining agreements and County policies and procedures. This position will provide professional level confidential administrative and technical staff and customer support for the Human Resources Department. This role must be able to adapt to change & actively identify and support improvement and change initiatives in a positive manner.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Key skills necessary for this position is a broad knowledge of HR industry practices with demonstrated experience in all functional areas of HR to include Federal, state and local employment and wage and hour laws (BOLI), FLSA, FMLA/OFLA Paid Leave Oregon, Worker’s Compensation, ADA, EEO, ACA. You will need to be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing as well as interpersonally and possess skills influencing all levels of individuals. Responsibilities will include assisting with employee benefits programs, assisting the coordination of classification, compensation and pay equity studies and support of the classification and compensation program. You would participate in internal audits and quality improvement projects related to reducing overall risk & liability to the County. The hired individual will assist in positively impacting the full employee life cycle service from new hire orientation through exit interviews.

Education requirements: Associate’s degree in business and/or two years of relevant college courses-required. Bachelor’s degree in business and/or four years of relevant college courses-preferred. Minimum 3 years of relevant HR experience; prefer public sector specific.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31.63 - $46.82 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
