Responsibilities include front desk coverage, ensuring welcoming and professional experience for employees, applicants, and the public. The HR team works closely with departments across the County, including elected officials and their offices—providing HR guidance on policies, procedures, and employment practices to support our mission of delivering consistent, fair, and service-driven human resources support.

We’re looking for a candidate with:

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, communications, business, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of HR experience (or a combination of relevant education and experience).
  • Public sector experience (preferred but not required).
  • A PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or PSHRA certification (preferred but not required).
  • A solid understanding of federal and state employment practices.
  • The ability to always maintain confidentiality.

  • Are a well-rounded HR professional with skills in all areas of HR.
  • Provide reliable front desk coverage with a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with employees, applicants, and the public.
  • Take initiative in supporting employee committees and engagement efforts, contributing to a positive workplace culture.
  • You are organized and detail-oriented when processing departmental expenses and tracking HR-related costs.
  • Demonstrate a solid foundational understanding of office and HR systems, with the ability to quickly learn new software and effectively operate within multiple platforms.
  • Possess intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office applications.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats.
  • Are a positive, solution-oriented individual who excels in multi-tasking and managing interruptions.
