Licensing & Pre-Employment Requirements: Must be eligible for a Nevada Cannabis Work Card, Valid Driver’s License, Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist supports the full scope of HR functions across multiple Deep Roots Harvest and The Source locations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and training. This role ensures consistency in HR practices, upholds state and federal employment law, and partners with site leadership to promote a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace culture. The position requires frequent travel to retail, production, and cultivation sites throughout Nevada.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Compliance

Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee relations concerns, providing guidance aligned with company policy and employment law

Conduct investigations, document findings, and recommend corrective actions when appropriate

Participate in and may lead coaching conversations, disciplinary meetings, and terminations in collaboration with site leadership

Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to NRS, OSHA, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and EEO

Support the administration of performance management, attendance, and corrective action processes
Recruitment & Onboarding

Assist with recruitment efforts in partnership with hiring managers, including posting, screening, and interviewing candidates

Assist with pre-employment background and work card compliance

Assist with new hire orientations and contribute to a seamless onboarding experience
HR Administration & Systems

Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and ensure timely data updates

Process employee changes, terminations, and reporting for audits

Conduct periodic audits of HR records and systems to ensure accuracy and compliance

Support benefits administration, leaves of absence case management (FMLA, ADA, personal), and related documentation/tracking
Training & Development

Assist with HR training initiatives, including but not limited to compliance, safety, leadership development, and operational training

Coach managers on performance feedback, documentation, and employee engagement best practices
Culture & Engagement

Promote Deep Roots Harvest’s mission, values, and culture through consistent leadership presence and relationship building at all sites

Participate in HR projects and initiatives that improve retention, morale, and operational efficiency
Other Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned by management to support HR operations and organizational goals

Strong knowledge of Nevada employment laws and HR best practices

Ability to travel frequently across Nevada (up to 50%)

Ability to perform repetitive tasks and maintain attention to detail over extended periods
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods while working on a computer or conducting meetings

Ability to move about within office, retail, and cultivation environments to access files, equipment, and interact with employees

Ability to operate office productivity tools and equipment (e.g., keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner)

Ability to visually inspect documents and environments for compliance and safety

Ability to respond to verbal communication in a variety of workplace settings

Ability to travel by car for multiple days at a time across Nevada

Ability to work in environments where exposure to cannabis plants, odors, and cultivation conditions is common

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally position self to access low or high storage (e.g., bending, twisting, reaching)

Ability to work in both indoor office settings and production/cultivation environments with varying noise levels and temperatures

Experience and Education

Minimum 3 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in retail, manufacturing, or multi-site environments

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field is a plus

SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus
-
A combination of education and equivalent experience will be considered
