Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support the full employee lifecycle in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role blends full-cycle recruitment with core HR compliance and administrative responsibilities, including payroll processing, leave administration (FMLA/ADA), employee relations, and workforce reporting.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, compliance-focused, comfortable on the plant floor, and capable of balancing recruiting priorities with day-to-day HR operations. This position partners closely with management to support workforce planning, employee engagement, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly and non-exempt positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer preparation, and pre-employment processing
  • Support exempt-level recruitment as needed
  • Partner with supervisors and managers to assess staffing needs and workforce planning requirements
  • Track and report on recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, turnover, and retention trends

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle

  • Facilitate new hire orientation and continuously enhance onboarding programs
  • Conduct 30- and 90-day new hire follow-ups
  • Coordinate department mentorship programs for new employees
  • Process employee status changes, terminations, and conduct exit interviews

Payroll, HRIS & Benefits Administration

  • Process and audit payroll to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data integrity
  • Manage payroll-related transactions including new hire setup, benefits enrollment, and employee changes
  • Serve as a resource for employee benefits inquiries

Compliance & Leave Management

  • Administer FMLA and track eligibility, documentation, and designations
  • Coordinate ADA interactive process discussions and reasonable accommodations
  • Support workers’ compensation documentation and return-to-work coordination
  • Partner with the designated Auditor Department to ensure audit readiness, documentation accuracy, and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct quarterly personnel file audits to ensure completeness and uniformity
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies
  • Maintain audit-ready personnel files and conduct periodic file reviews

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Maintain a strong presence on the plant floor, conducting routine employee check-ins and fostering positive working relationships
  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to employees and supervisors
  • Partner with supervisors on coaching, performance management, corrective action, and disciplinary processes
  • Facilitate employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, retention efforts, and morale-building activities
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and positive work environment

Reporting & Communication

  • Generate HR reports related to to headcount, retention, turnover, attendance trends, engagement metrics, and other HR analytics
  • Assist with internal communications including newsletters, bulletin boards, and HR updates
  • Prepare and provide additional HR reports as requested by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, payroll processing, and employment law compliance
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
  • Frequent walking on the production floor and standing during meetings or trainings
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to navigate manufacturing areas including exposure to noise and moving equipment, with appropriate PPE when required
  • Role requires regular in-person presence on-site; not a remote/hybrid position

Pay: $57,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
