Human Resources Generalist

HR GENERALIST

POSITION SUMMARY

This position includes recruiting, performance management, employee relations, compensation, process & policy guidance and improvement, and legal compliance for a leader in the fire protection industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Recruitment & Retention

  • Responsible for staffing and recruitment processes.
  • Conduct or acquire background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
  • Conduct onboarding and pre-employment activities.
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate hiring qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with department leaders to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Focus on employee retention methods and strategy development.
  • Maintaining files for employees and their personnel documents, benefits, performance reviews, attendance records and forms related to discipline.
  • Completion, verification, and maintenance of state required documentation.

Employee Relations

  • Conduct exit interviews
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships between company departments.

Payroll

· Accurately and timely processes weekly payroll including the verification of hours worked.

· Process promotions, and compensation changes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledgeable of the human resources field.
  • Good Understanding of state and federal employment regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Able to successfully prioritize and execute multi-task projects & initiatives.
  • Strong at multitasking and the ability to prioritize.
  • Skilled at Microsoft Office suite with heavy use of Office, Excel, and Word.

QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Human Resources field
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift (8am-5pm with an hour for lunch)
  • Monday to Friday

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
