Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist – Professional Staff will play a critical role in expanding AuST Group’s internal HR capabilities. This position focuses primarily on recruiting, hiring, and onboarding professional staff—including engineers, managers, and other salaried personnel—while providing general HR support across all functions. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, people-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, growing manufacturing environment and can collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

· Recruiting & Talent Acquisition (Primary Focus – ~60%)

· Partner with department leaders to define role requirements, craft job descriptions, and develop recruiting strategies for professional and technical positions.

· Manage full-cycle recruiting including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and reference checking.

· Coordinate and participate in interviews with hiring managers; serve as a key HR representative in the hiring process.

· Draft and issue offer letters, ensuring alignment with company compensation guidelines and approval processes.

· Maintain applicant tracking and candidate communication throughout the process to ensure a professional candidate experience.

· Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for future hiring needs.

· Onboarding & Integration (~20%)

· Oversee onboarding for professional staff, including orientation scheduling, paperwork, and system setup.

· Work with IT, HR, and departmental leaders to ensure new hires are properly integrated into their teams.

· Conduct follow-up check-ins with new employees and managers to assess integration success and identify improvement opportunities.

· General HR Support (~20%)

· Support the HR Manager in policy implementation, employee relations, performance management, and compliance activities.

· Assist with compensation benchmarking, promotion documentation, and performance review coordination for professional staff.

· Help ensure compliance with company policies, employment laws, and HR best practices.

· Support data accuracy and integrity within HR systems and personnel files.

· Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).

· 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on recruiting and generalist responsibilities.

· Experience recruiting professional, technical, or engineering talent strongly preferred.

· Strong understanding of employment law and HR compliance practices.

· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail.

· Proficiency with HRIS and applicant tracking systems (experience with ADP, Paylocity, or similar systems preferred).
