Human Resources Generalist

Tuscan Brands LLC is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to add to our growing team. Our organization prides itself on the talented and diverse workforce that is the backbone of our success.

Our ideal candidate is people-oriented, proactive, passionate, and loves to learn! The selected candidate will report directly to the HR Manager in this essential role. The primary goal of this position will be to ensure accurate employee compensation (payroll processing, taxes, deductions) and administers benefit programs (health, retirement), serving as the primary contact for employee questions, ensuring legal compliance, reconciling data with HR/Finance, and maintaining confidential records, bridging HR and Accounting to support overall financial integrity and employee satisfaction. In addition, the role will require someone with attention to detail to help keep the HR administrative side of the operations organized and running efficiently.

Essential Duftites and Responsibilities

Payroll Processing:

  • Accurately and efficiently process payroll for up to 500+ employees, ensuring timely and correct payments while adhering to company policies and state (NH & MASS) regulations through Toast and Paycom.
  • Administer deductions, garnishments, and other withholdings.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Ensure all payroll-related entries are accurate and reconciled with financial records.
  • Manage time and attendance data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper coding.

Benefits, 401(k) & ACA Compliance (Multi-State):

  • Manage employee benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and benefit changes in coordination with HR and third-party vendors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, issue resolution, and employee education regarding benefit offerings and eligibility.
  • Assist HR Manager with administration of all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, accident, wellness, and voluntary benefits.
  • Oversee Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance across multiple states, with specific responsibility for New Hampshire and Massachusetts, including:
  • Managing ACA data within payroll and HR systems (e.g., Paycom, Toast) to ensure consistency between timekeeping, benefits, and payroll records.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and tax regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in payroll management, with a strong understanding of payroll procedures, laws & benefits administration.
  • Experience with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with benefits administration
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and math skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of hospitality-specific payroll items like tips and service charges is a plus.
