We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR and payroll-related duties with a high degree of accuracy and accountability. This position supports a range of functional areas, including fostering a positive workplace culture, recruitment, onboarding, payroll processing, employee compensation, payroll record maintenance, employee relations, and employment law compliance.
This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, and hiring coordination.
- Prepare and issue job offers.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and I9 compliance.
- Set up and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or benefits as needed on ADP and Ease.
- Process payroll and deductions, including taxes, benefits, child support garnishments and other deductions.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, taxes, and HR policies.
- Administer and track employees' PTO requests, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Administer benefit plans including 401K related annual compliance and internal auditing.
- Ensure timely response is made to any workers comp claim, government issued documentation or other inquiries requiring HR approval, action, or contribution.
- Coordinate and facilitate employee evaluations, including 30-, 60-, and 90-day reviews, and assist the annual performance review process.
- Support salary benchmarking and compensation research.
- Annual Workers Comp Audit reporting and compliance.
- Audit and reconcile monthly premium statements and assist with all insurance billing.
- Support negotiations related to employee benefits packages in coordination with the insurance agent.
- Research and recommend cost-effective benefits options.
- Maintain and track all required employee training certifications, including CPR and MSHA (Avetta-related certificates tracking as applicable).
- OSHA and MSHA reporting and compliance.
- Monitor training expiration dates and ensure employees remain compliant across departments.
- Improve, implement, and administer Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update Company Handbook.
- Oversee employee labor and HR federal laws and regulations to assure compliance.
- Employee relations management and conflict resolution.
- Calculate and process intercompany HR & Payroll billing.
- Law poster compliance.
- Coordinate training logistics across departments, including both onsite and offsite sessions, and assist with any necessary accommodations.
- Organize and facilitate HR-related events, such as team-building activities and training sessions.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
- Knowledge of Davis Bacon payroll compliance a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing.
- Proficient in ADP and Paylocity software.
- Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and laws.
- Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations.
- Excellent decision making and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
