Human Resources Generalist
Human Resources Department | Full-Time | Onsite – St. Louis, MO
Service Metal is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Human Resources Department as a Human Resources Generalist. This role plays a critical part in supporting core HR functions, ensuring compliance, and delivering seamless employee experience across the organization.

JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist supports daily HR operations with a focus on recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and employee support. This role ensures accurate recordkeeping, maintains HR systems, and serves as a key point of contact for employee inquiries. The HR Generalist plays an important role in fostering a professional, organized, and compliant HR environment while supporting company initiatives and employee engagement efforts.
This is a full-time, onsite position based at our Maryland Heights Corporate Headquarters and reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.
RESPONSIBILITIES: · Administer recruiting, hiring, and onboarding processes for entry-level positions. · Maintain confidential employee personnel records, ensuring accuracy and compliance. · Process employment verifications, garnishments, and required employee documentation. · Manage I-9 completion and ensure compliance with employment regulations. · Track employee certifications, training requirements, and compliance deadlines. · Conduct regular audits of HR files to ensure completeness and regulatory compliance. · Serve as a primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries and HRIS (Paylocity) support. · Manage incoming HR phone line and direct employee questions appropriately. · Provide front desk support at Corporate HQ, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment. · Support company events, employee engagement initiatives, and internal communications. · Collaborate with internal departments to support HR processes and company initiatives. · Promote a solution-focused, service-oriented approach to enhance the employee experience.
PREFERRED SKILLSEXPERIENCE: · High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or related field · Minimum of 2 years of HR or administrative experience preferred. · Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail. · Ability to manage multiple priorities. · Professional written and verbal communication skills. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams).
WORK ENVIRONMENT: · General office environment with a front-facing workspace in the reception area which will have regular interaction with employees and visitors. · Occasional visits to warehouse environments as needed. · Regular use of computer, phone systems, and HR platforms throughout the workday.
