Human Resources Intern | Magic Springs Theme & Water Park
Position Type: Seasonal | Pay: Starting at $11.00/hour
Do you enjoy working with people, solving problems, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at how a large business operates? This position gives students the ability to gain real-world experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment, greatly contributing to the success of Arkansas's ONLY theme & water park! Our HR team is responsible for creating an amazing workplace for hundreds of seasonal team members. As an HR Intern, you’ll get hands-on experience in recruiting, employee engagement, and workplace operations while helping make this summer unforgettable for our team.
We believe interns should actually learn and contribute, so you'll help with the following:
Recruitment & Hiring
- Assist with reviewing applications and scheduling interviews
- Help host hiring events and job fairs
- Support the onboarding process for new team members
Employee Experience
- Help plan employee appreciation events and engagement activities
- Assist with orientation sessions for new hires
- Be a friendly resource for employees with questions
HR Operations
- Help maintain employee records and our HRIS system
- Assist with the completion of bi-weekly payroll
- Support communication between employees and managers
Special Projects
- Work on an assigned project related to our recruiting strategy and how it can be improved using data collected during onboarding
- Other special tasks/projects related to improving employee culture and engagement across all departments
What We're Looking For:
- Must be at least 18 years old due to the work hours required for this position
- Someone currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business, Management, Psychology, or a related field
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary
- Organized, reliable, and comfortable talking with people
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Someone who enjoys working in a fun, fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects
