Position Summary

The Human Resources Intern will support the HR function through hands-on involvement in core HR processes, projects, and daily operations. This role is designed to provide practical exposure to Human Resources in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on compliance, employee support, and operational alignment.

The intern will assist with structured HR projects and gain experience in areas such as recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and HR systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day HR administrative functions, including employee records, onboarding documentation, and general HR support
  • Support recruiting efforts, including job postings, applicant tracking, and candidate coordination
  • Participate in onboarding processes and new hire orientation preparation
  • Assist in maintaining HR documentation and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations
  • Observe and support employee relations processes, including documentation and workflow tracking
  • Work within HR systems (UKG) to support data entry, reporting, and process improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with HR and operational leadership on assigned projects

Project-Based Work

The intern may be assigned structured projects, including but not limited to:

  • Supervisor Onboarding Toolkit Development

Assist in building a standardized onboarding guide for front-line supervisors, including expectations, safety responsibilities, and leadership practices

  • HR Process Mapping

Document and create visual workflows for key HR processes such as hiring, onboarding, leave administration, and employee relations

  • Recruitment and Employer Branding Review

Evaluate current recruiting materials and provide recommendations to improve candidate experience and recruiting effectiveness

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Interest in Human Resources and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment

Work Environment

This position will operate in both office and plant environments. The intern may be exposed to typical conditions associated with a manufacturing facility and will be expected to follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Compensation

Hourly, non-exempt position. Compensation will be determined at the time of offer.
