Human Resources Manager

PURPOSE

The Manager of Human Resources is responsible for leading and managing all human resources functions for CU*SOUTH. This role serves as a strategic partner to the Executive Leadership team, ensuring that HR strategies align with business objectives while fostering a high-performance, compliant, and employee-centered culture.

The HR Manager oversees talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, compliance, and organizational development initiatives. This role plays a critical part in supporting a technology-driven workforce in a secure, fast-paced, and highly regulated data environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the CFO and Executive Leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that support business growth and operational goals.
  • Advise leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, and talent management.
  • Develop and monitor HR metrics to guide decision-making.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for technical, operational, and administrative roles.
  • Develop effective sourcing strategies for specialized data processing and IT talent.
  • Oversee onboarding programs to ensure seamless employee integration.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven workplace culture.
  • Provide guidance and resolution on employee relations matters.
  • Develop engagement initiatives to support retention and morale.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state(s), and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee policies, handbook, and HR procedures.
  • Oversee HR-related audits, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Support data privacy and confidentiality standards relevant to employee records.

Compensation & Benefits Administration

  • Manage compensation structures and benefits programs to remain competitive in the technology and data services market, which support attraction, retention and business performance.
  • Conduct market analyses and recommend salary adjustments.
  • Oversee payroll coordination and benefits enrollment processes.

Performance Management & Development

  • Design and manage performance evaluation systems.
  • Implement training and development initiatives, including leadership development programs.
  • Support succession planning and career path development.

HR Operations & Systems

  • Responsible for the Professional Employment Organization relationship and services.
  • Oversee HRIS systems and employee data management.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Improve HR workflows and implement process efficiencies.
  • Manage external vendors, consultants, and benefit providers.

SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENT

Internal

  • Uphold CU*SOUTH Code of Conduct and PRAISE Core Values.
  • Provide same-day response to all internal inquiries received by noon that day, provide next-day response to all others, establishing a priority to urgency on all requests (based on scheduled hours).
  • Provide internal support to all lines of business accordingly, to advocate and encourage internal collaboration.

External

  • Uphold CU*SOUTH Code of Conduct and PRAISE Core Values.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a technology, data processing, IT services, or similarly regulated environment strongly preferred.

Certifications

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting technical and data-focused teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to think strategically while executing tactically.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

CU*SOUTH operates in a professional office building setting as well as remote sites. Some job assignments at CU*SOUTH are primarily conducted within the office building(s) while others have moderate to extensive travel responsibilities as described in the Job Functions and/or Job Qualifications section(s) above.
