Position Summary
The Human Resources (HR) Manager will lead and manage all HR functions for the organization, serving as a strategic partner to leadership and a trusted resource for employees. This role is responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining HR systems, policies, and processes that support the company’s growth while ensuring full compliance with all applicable California and federal employment laws. The HR Manager will oversee payroll, recruiting, employee relations, and training initiatives, fostering a positive and compliant workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Strategy
- Develop, implement, and manage HR policies, procedures, and programs aligned with company goals
- Build and maintain HR infrastructure, including systems, processes, and documentation
- Partner with leadership to support organizational planning and workforce development
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state (California), and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintain employee records and documentation in accordance with legal requirements
- Monitor and update company policies to reflect regulatory changes
Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and best practices
- Lead investigations and resolve workplace issues in a fair and consistent manner
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Oversee full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding
- Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain top talent
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and workforce planning
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and vendor coordination
- Ensure proper handling of compensation, deductions, and reporting
Training & Development
- Design, implement, and oversee HR training programs, including compliance and workplace training
- Support employee development initiatives and performance management processes
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of California labor laws and federal employment regulations
- Experience managing payroll processes and HR systems
- Proven ability to build HR functions and processes from the ground up
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
- Experience in a growing or mid-sized organization
- Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems
Work Environment
- This is a full-time, onsite position based at the company’s headquarters in Santa Ana, CA
- The role requires regular interaction with employees and leadership across the organization
- This role reports to the Director of Operations
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000 annually
