Human Resources Manager

JOB SUMMARY:


The Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, employment law compliance, employee relations, employee engagement, training, performance management, salary administration and timekeeping, and personnel and company policy interpretation and administration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Recruits, interviews and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions, including publishing job postings online, reviewing applicants, conducting reference checks, distributing initial screening tests, sharing of qualified candidates with department heads, nurture recruiting partner relationships.
  • Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Conduct new-hire orientation including employee handbook review and onboarding.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Enroll in KPA certifications and GM Center of Learning training.
  • Distribute uniforms.
  • Coordinate and administer 90-day and annual employee reviews with department heads.
  • Prepare 90-day and annual reviews for department heads.
  • Review performance data and identify internal candidates for job vacancies.
  • Maintain staff calendar.
  • Conduct exit interviews and ensure completion of separation forms.
  • Ensure completion of weekly timecard process.
  • Support department heads by responding to team member questions regarding benefits
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with training requirements for Dealership employees. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Liaison to 401k provider and enroll eligible employees.
  • Prepare and set yearly open enrollment with all insurance companies.
  • Maintain all employee files and records.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (e.g. Outlook, Work, Excel, Power Point).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Degree in Human Resources.
  • HR Certification such as SHRM, PHR, HRCI preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in HR.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:


  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the Dealership’s facilities.
