Overview
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to work with our company across the HVAC Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) and Demand Control Kitchen Ventilation industries. The ideal candidate brings hands-on HR experience in construction.
The HR Manager will lead all human resources functions, supporting a high-performance, people-first culture aligned with the Company’s vision and mission. This role is responsible for all human resources functions, talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, compliance, and organizational development, ensuring our team is equipped to deliver exceptional value to our members.
Key Responsibilities
1. Onboarding
- Design and continuously improve onboarding programs that set new hires up for early success
- Create structured 30/60/90-day plans in partnership with managers
2. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and growth-focused work environment consistent with Company values
- Develop engagement initiatives that reflect and reinforce our peer advisory culture
- Conduct employee surveys and implement improvement plans
3. Performance Management
- Oversee performance review processes and goal-setting frameworks across the organization
- Partner with leadership on coaching, development, and succession planning
- Address performance issues with a constructive, solutions-oriented approach
4. HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across all operating locations
- Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbook, and internal procedures
- Manage employee records, HR systems, and HR reporting
5. Learning & Development
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs
- Support leadership development aligned with the Company’s coaching philosophy
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
6. Compensation & Benefits
- Administer compensation structures and benefits programs
- Conduct regular market benchmarking to ensure competitive offerings
- Manage benefits enrollment and serve as the primary employee resource for benefits questions
7. Strategic HR Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on HR strategy and organizational growth
- Align HR initiatives with business goals and growth plans
- Support change management and organizational scaling efforts
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
- Coaching mindset with high emotional intelligence and sound conflict resolution instinct
- Strategic thinking with hands-on execution ability
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, advisory-driven environment
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of HR experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial or lead role
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR certification required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work full-time in a remote setting with a reliable internet connection
- Occasional availability for early or late meetings to support multiple time zones
- Must reside in Central time zone
- Minimal physical demands beyond standard office work
- Ability to sit for up to 8 hours per day.
Pay: $67,399.17 - $85,000.00 per year
