Summary
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, results driven HR Manager based at our Newaygo facility. The primary focus of this role will be providing HR support to Newaygo employees and an emphasis in championing Leave Management.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership to align HR strategies with organizational goals and business needs
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers on employee relations, performance management, and organizational effectiveness
- Support workplace planning, succession, and change management activities
- Manage employee relations matters, including investigation, corrective actions, and conflict resolution, ensuring consistency and legal compliance
- Coach managers on effective performance, feedback, and documentation
- Administer performance review and goal-setting processes
- Oversee recruitment efforts, including workplace planning, candidate selection, and hiring decisions
- Ensure effective onboarding and assimilation of new employees
- Support employer branding and continuous improvement of hiring process
- Administer compensation and benefits programs in partnership with leadership and vendors
- Oversee HRIS data accuracy, reporting, and employee records management
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws
- Identify training and development needs and support leadership development initiatives
- Partner with leaders to drive employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (including FMLA, ADA, EEO, ERISA)
- Develop, update, and administer HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook content
- Serve as a point of contact for audits, compliance reporting, and regulatory matters
- Attend training sessions regularly to continue professional growth and development
- Identify opportunities for improvement within the department
- Act as SME and project owner for assigned HR initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Proficient in HRIS (UKG preferred) and MS Office
- Working knowledge of employment laws
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills
Pay: $55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
