Human Resources Operations Manager

Location: St. Paul, Minnesota

Schedule: Hybrid (2 days work from home after training)

Compensation: $149,000–$153,000, depending on qualifications

Our mission-driven nonprofit organization in Minnesota is seeking an experienced Human Resources Operations Manager to lead human resources strategy and daily operations across the organization. This senior leadership role partners closely with executive leadership to strengthen people practices, improve organizational effectiveness, and support a welcoming, values-based workplace.


The ideal candidate brings both strategic vision and operational excellence, with a proven ability to lead HR teams, enhance systems and processes, and support talent development in a complex organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute human resources strategies that align workforce priorities with the organization’s mission, values, and long-term goals.
  • Partner with executive leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, employee engagement, and people-related decision-making.
  • Oversee core HR operations, including employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, compliance, and policy management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team while promoting accountability, quality, and a high level of service.
  • Evaluate and improve HR processes, workflows, systems, and reporting capabilities to increase efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
  • Oversee HR technology and system administration, ensuring strong platform performance, data integrity, and user support.
  • Lead change management efforts that improve adoption of new processes and support organizational growth.
  • Use HR metrics, workforce data, and analytics to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and service-oriented culture that reflects the organization’s commitment to belonging.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience managing HR teams.
  • Strong experience in both strategic HR leadership and day-to-day HR operations.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, improving systems, and supporting organizational change.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification preferred, but not required.


Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work from home 2 days per week after training . Candidates must be located in the Twin Cities area for consideration. Out-of-state applicants will not be considered.


Compensation and Benefits

Beginning pay is $149,000–$153,000 depending on qualifications. Full benefits include:
