Human Resources Representative

The Human Resources Representative – Recruitment is responsible for supporting talent acquisition efforts across Morongo Casino Resort & Spa. This role plays a key part in sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding qualified candidates, while also assisting in various HR-related tasks. The HR Representative builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders and ensures the hiring process is efficient, compliant, and aligned with the resort’s staffing needs and service standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a trusted HR partner to leadership, maintaining confidentiality and providing guidance throughout the full recruitment lifecycle.
  • Manages recruitment processes including application review, interview coordination, and candidate communication within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Conducts candidate screenings, both via phone and in-person, to evaluate qualifications and job fit.
  • Coordinates interview logistics and staffing needs in collaboration with department managers.
  • Participates in career fairs and recruitment events to promote employment opportunities and attract diverse talent.
  • Works closely with the Morongo Gaming Agency to facilitate pre-employment requirements, such as background checks and drug testing.
  • Ensures timely processing and accuracy of new hire records, employee status updates, and internal transfers for payroll and benefits.
  • Assists with team member file maintenance and responds to authorized inquiries in accordance with company policy.
  • Updates HR bulletin boards and internal communications related to recruitment.
  • Prepares ad-hoc recruitment reports to monitor performance and recommend process improvements.
  • Stays informed of labor law changes and ensures hiring procedures comply with regulatory standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance and support to team members and hiring managers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Experienced in the use of ATS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Effective communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage candidates and internal stakeholders.
  • Displays initiative, adaptability, and works well independently or as part of a collaborative team.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field required.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or a generalist HR role with significant recruiting responsibilities.
  • Experience managing full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms (UKG Pro or similar) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume recruitment in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience supporting recruitment for a hospitality, gaming, or resort environment is a plus.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

  • Working Conditions: Regularly works in both office and casino environments, with exposure to moderate to high noise levels and a smoking environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.

WORKING HOURS:

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
