Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and people‑centric Human Resources & Safety Manager to lead our HR initiatives and company‑wide safety programs in a fast‑paced commercial/industrial HVAC contracting environment. This dual‑role position requires a dynamic professional with expertise in human capital management, labor laws, organizational development, and safety compliance. You will oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, payroll administration, training initiatives, and HR systems — while also managing all aspects of workplace safety, including OSHA, DOT, DOL, and EPA compliance. This role supports both office staff and field mechanics and blends strategic leadership with hands‑on involvement in the field. This is a key role for our growing company and will significantly influence culture, compliance, and operational excellence.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives, including talent acquisition, succession planning, and employee development.
- Manage employee relations by addressing grievances, conducting investigations, and resolving conflicts effectively.
- Oversee compliance with employment laws such as FMLA, OSHA regulations, workers' compensation policies, and other labor standards.
- Lead safety initiatives by developing safety policies, conducting training sessions on OSHA standards, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols across all departments.
- Administer benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
- Coordinate employee onboarding and orientation processes to ensure smooth integration into the company culture.
- Manage performance appraisal systems, employee evaluations, and training & development programs to enhance workforce capabilities.
- Conduct data analysis related to HR metrics for strategic planning and process improvement efforts.
- Lead organizational design initiatives to optimize workforce structure and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure legal compliance through regular audits of contracts, policies, and procedures related to employment & labor law.
- Collaborate with team on strategic planning initiatives that impact human capital management and organizational growth.
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of employment & labor law, OSHA standards, Workers' Compensation regulations, and HR compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for effective presentation of policies and training programs.
- Supervisory experience with a focus on team leadership and development within HR functions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Human Resources, or related field
- OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Outreach Certification required
- CSP or CHST preferred
Experience Requirements:
- 3–5 years of safety management experience in construction, industrial contracting, or HVAC
- Proven experience administering DOT, OSHA, DOL, and EPA compliance programs
- Hands‑on experience with incident investigation, hazard mitigation, and safety audits
- Familiarity with EAP contracts, fire code inspections, and safety supply chain management
- Proficiency with safety management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic recordkeeping
- HR experience in recruiting, employee relations, payroll, benefits, and compliance strongly preferred

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
