Human Resources Specialist

Saint Paul, United States

Job Overview

We are a mission-driven early intervention autism clinic in Roseville, MN seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist. This role is essential to supporting our growing team — ensuring smooth HR processes, compliance, and a positive workplace culture so our staff can focus on providing high-quality care to the children and families we serve.

This is not an entry-level position. We’re looking for someone with proven HR experience who understands both people and systems — ideally in a school, healthcare, or child-focused setting. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, communicate clearly, and take pride in helping teams run smoothly, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, recordkeeping, and offboarding
  • Coordinate payroll and benefits administration through ADP
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Develop and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook
  • Serve as the first point of contact for staff HR inquiries and workplace guidance
  • Support managers with performance evaluations and professional development planning
  • Track time-off requests, attendance, and scheduling in alignment with clinic needs
  • Help foster a supportive, inclusive, and mission-driven culture across the team

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in healthcare, education, or social services
  • Familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now experience a strong plus)
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — approachable, clear, and professional
  • Highly organized with strong time management and attention to detail
  • Experience supporting teams in child-centered or neurodiverse settings is a plus
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

The Right Fit Is Someone Who

  • Can balance HR compliance with warmth and empathy
  • Anticipates staff needs and solves small issues before they grow
  • Thrives in structured systems but adapts when the day shifts
  • Maintains confidentiality while building trust with employees
  • Cares deeply about supporting the people who make our work possible
