This position is located in the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Organizational Culture and Wellness Bureau (OCWB), Human Resources Management Division (HRMD). The Human Resources Specialist provides a wide range of comprehensive human resource functions that include, but are not limited to personnel action processing, recruitment and placement, operations, and management advisory services.

The employee is required to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Work Experience
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CS-11 grade level, or its non-District equivalent, gained from public or private sector. Examples of specialized experience for this position include experience providing HR advisory services and administering staffing and recruitment programs for assigned organizational areas; experience working with customers/hiring managers to announce vacancies and hire a qualified workforce, including conducting job analysis, validating qualifications, setting pay, and making offers of employment; communicating effectively in writing and orally; utilizing business software applications; and the ability to apply analytical, mathematical, and problem solving skills.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an office setting, but incumbent is subject to varying environments when visiting other work locations.
