Five Horizons Health Services (FHHS) is a nonprofit community-based organization that provides high-quality, patient-centered medical, prevention, testing, and case management services across the Alabama Black Belt and East Mississippi.
Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Specialist supports the daily operations of the Human Resources department by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HR compliance, and personnel record management. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring HR policies and procedures are applied consistently while promoting a positive and productive workplace.
· Assist in recruitment (job postings, resume reviews, interviews, etc.)
· Manage onboarding for new hires, to include employment paperwork, benefit enrollment, tax forms, and I-9 documentation.
· Organize and lead New Employee Orientation (NEO)
· Maintain up-to-date employee records (digital and paper), such as demographic data, evaluations, benefits, pay, etc.
· Assist with employee benefits enrollment, changes, and questions.
· Support leave administration including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other employee leave requests.
· Manage employee recognition program (i.e. job performance awards, birthday, work anniversary)
· Assist employees in troubleshooting HR/Payroll web and phone-based applications
· Assist with resolving employee concerns and escalate complex issues to the HR Director.
· Create and update department documents, spreadsheets, and trackers.
· Assist with maintaining and updating HR policies and procedures.
· Participate in audits related to personnel files, benefits, and HR compliance.
· Basic knowledge of HR practices and employment law.
· Assist with special HR projects and organizational initiatives.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
· Maintain confidentiality of employee records at all times.

Requirements:
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
