Job Description

O’Brien Law Group is seeking a Bilingual Spanish Immigration Attorney to join our established and growing immigration law firm in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a full-time, in-office immigration attorney position focused on representing individuals and families in immigration matters before USCIS and Immigration Court.

This role is ideal for a Spanish-speaking immigration lawyer who is client-focused, detail-oriented, and looking for long-term career stability and growth in a collaborative law firm environment.

Responsibilities

  • Handle immigration law cases from intake through resolution
  • Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, waivers, and motions
  • Represent clients before USCIS and Immigration Court
  • Communicate with immigration clients in English and Spanish
  • Conduct legal research and case analysis
  • Manage immigration case deadlines and filings
  • Maintain accurate electronic case files using immigration case management software
  • Coordinate hearings, filings, and client appointments
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active law license (Kentucky preferred or ability to obtain)
  • Fluent Spanish (spoken and written)
  • Experience in immigration law or strong interest in practicing immigration law
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as an immigration attorney or immigration lawyer
  • Experience with family-based immigration, waivers (I-601 / I-601A), or removal defense
  • Immigration court or agency appearance experience
  • Familiarity with immigration case management systems (Docketwise or similar)
