About TAKMIL
TAKMIL (Teach A Kid Make Individual Life) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality education to out-of-school children in rural Pakistan. Since 2017, TAKMIL has been operating 150+ non-formal schools, educating over 5,000 children, and mobilizing volunteers across 10+ North American chapters. Our mission is to build a Pakistan with zero out-of-school children by 2047.
Role Overview
The Impact Communication Lead will strengthen and streamline TAKMIL’s communication across two key audiences:
- Chapter Local Leads: to ensure alignment, coordination, and engagement across 19+ North American chapters.
- Chapter Donors: to deliver consistent, professional, and inspiring updates that showcase the impact of their contributions.
This individual will prepare chapter-specific impact reports, facilitate meetings, support donor stewardship, and provide content and tools for chapters to engage their local communities more effectively.
Key Responsibilities1. Two-Level Chapter Communication
- Serve as the central communication point between TAKMIL leadership, chapter leads, and chapter donors.
- Build and maintain a communication calendar that includes updates for both chapter teams and their donors.
- Ensure all chapter leads receive monthly updates with key impact highlights, upcoming events, and resources.
- Develop ready-to-use donor updates (short reports, email templates, thank-you notes) that chapters can share with their supporters.
2. Chapter Lead Engagement
- Organize and facilitate regular virtual meetings with chapter leads to share progress, campaign strategies, and field updates.
- Maintain a contact list of chapter leaders, volunteers, and key stakeholders.
- Provide training and communication toolkits to help chapter leads engage their local donor base effectively.
3. Donor Engagement & Stewardship
- Coordinate and host virtual donor meetings (both city-specific and organization-wide).
- Work with chapters to prepare personalized donor impact reports highlighting progress in the schools/villages they support.
- Ensure consistent donor acknowledgment (letters, thank-you videos, milestone updates).
- Collaborate with the fundraising team to craft compelling donor communications for special campaigns.
4. Impact Reporting
- Collect data and stories from TAKMIL schools (attendance, literacy, teacher updates, success stories).
- Prepare quarterly chapter-specific impact reports and annual reports with key metrics and narratives.
- Use visuals, infographics, and short stories to make reports donor-friendly and easy to share.
5. Storytelling & Content Development
- Transform field data into human-centered stories that inspire action.
- Create toolkits with photos, videos, presentations, and social media content for chapter use.
- Support chapters in their local events with presentation decks and campaign materials.
6. Campaign & Event Support
- Develop chapter campaign kits with templates and talking points for consistency.
- Track campaign participation, donor engagement, and fundraising results.
- Provide post-event/campaign summaries and recommendations for improvement.
7. Systems & Processes
- Maintain a shared repository (Google Drive/CRM/Notion) for chapter communications, donor contact history, and reports.
- Build feedback loops to continuously improve communication flow between central team, chapters, and donors.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, International Development, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2+ years in communications, donor relations, or volunteer management (nonprofit experience preferred).
- Experience coordinating across multiple teams or chapters.
- Excellent communication (verbal, written) and meeting facilitation skills.
- Strong ability to create polished reports, presentations, and donor updates.
- Good organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools (Zoom, Google Workspace, Slack, Canva).

Expected Outcomes (First 6–12 Months)
- Establish a two-level communication system: separate but coordinated updates for chapter leads and chapter donors.
- Deliver quarterly impact reports tailored to each chapter and their donor base.
- Successfully host chapter lead meetings every quarter and virtual donor meetings at least twice a year.
- Increase donor engagement and chapter satisfaction with communication resources and timeliness.
