Import Accountant

Position Title: Import Accountant

Location: Head Office, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi
Work Days/Hours: Monday to Saturday (Alternate Saturdays Off), 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
• Master’s degree or professional certifications such as ACCA, ICMA, or CA-Inter will be preferred.
• Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in treasury, finance, or banking operations.
• Experience in corporate treasury and import/export finance will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle foreign payments for imports and manage commercial remittances in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Process payments for import custom duties and ensure timely submission to authorities.
• Manage trade finance facilities (renewals, enhancements, and establishment of new limits) with banks, maintaining strong relationships to support business needs.
• Prepare accurate cash flow forecasts for effective liquidity and treasury planning.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of all treasury transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
• Collaborate with internal departments to address treasury-related needs and support financial decision-making.
• Monitor foreign exchange exposure and assist in implementing strategies to minimize financial risks.

Required Expertise & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of treasury operations, import accounting, banking procedures, and trade finance.
• Hands-on experience in import payments, custom duty processing, and banking transactions.
• Proficiency in cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and financial reporting.
• Solid understanding of foreign exchange regulations and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with banks and internal teams.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/financial software.
