Our client Crescent Corporation is looking for a Import Assistant in Lahore.

Crescent Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Import Assistant to support and manage import operations efficiently. The ideal candidate is responsible for overseeing the importation process, including handling letters of credit, bank documentation, and shipping coordination. This role requires close collaboration with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure timely and accurate shipment deliveries. The Import Assistant plays a key role in maintaining thorough and accurate import records, ensuring compliance with relevant import regulations and Incoterms.

The candidate should possess a basic understanding of import procedures and documentation, and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook. The position suits individuals with a Bachelors degree in Business, Commerce, or related fields, and 1-2 years of relevant experience. This role does not involve managing a team but requires effective communication, organizational skills, and strong attention to detail to support the companys import operations successfully.

Responsibilities

• Manage letters of credit (LCs) and coordinate with banks to handle required documentation and follow-ups.
• Prepare and process import documentation ensuring all shipments comply with company standards and legal requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers to confirm order details, shipment schedules, and delivery timelines.
• Communicate regularly with freight forwarders and customs agents to facilitate smooth shipment clearance and transportation.
• Track shipments from origin to destination and proactively follow up to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain accurate and organized import records, including documentation related to shipments, payments, and customs clearance.
• Monitor compliance with Incoterms and import regulations to minimize risks and avoid delays.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Outlook to manage data entry, communication, and reporting related to import operations.
• Assist in resolving any issues arising during the import process including documentation discrepancies or shipment delays.
