Import Development Manager

Core Responsibilities:

Supplier Management & Development:
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing partners in China and other regions.

Identify and develop new supplier opportunities aligned with the Saudi market needs.

Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and long-term agreements to achieve target costs and margins.

Product & Market Strategy:
-
Work closely with category teams to identify gaps and opportunities for Private Label products.
-
Develop product forecasts and ensure alignment with sales and marketing strategies.
-
Monitor competitor activity and market trends to ensure competitiveness.
-
Operational & Import Management:
-
Oversee the entire import process end-to-end, including procurement, production follow-up, and shipping.
-
Ensure compliance with Government regulations including SASO and customs.
-
Familiarity with certification processes with respect to IECEE, G-Mark etc
-
Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams for smooth shipment planning, timely arrivals, and inventory management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
-
Work closely with Finance, Logistics, and Category teams to ensure alignment of objectives.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of buyers and quality controllers.
-
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
-
Must have appliances and electronics background. Experience in a retail company will be a definite advantage.

Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field (master’s preferred).

10+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or private label management, preferably in retail.

Strong experience working with Chinese manufacturers and other global suppliers.
-
In-depth knowledge of international shipping, logistics, customs clearance, and compliance processes.

Proven negotiation skills and experience achieving target costs.
-
Strong analytical, forecasting, and planning skills.
-
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-cultural management skills.
-
Fluent in English and Arabic.
-
Ability to travel internationally as required.
