Import Development Manager

Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia

We are actively looking for an Import Development Manager to join our Commercial team ,


Core Responsibilities:


  • Supplier Management & Development:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing partners in China and other regions.
  • Identify and develop new supplier opportunities aligned with the Saudi market needs.
  • Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and long-term agreements to achieve target costs and margins.
  • Product & Market Strategy:
  • Work closely with category teams to identify gaps and opportunities for Private Label products.
  • Develop product forecasts and ensure alignment with sales and marketing strategies.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to ensure competitiveness.
  • Operational & Import Management:
  • Oversee the entire import process end-to-end, including procurement, production follow-up, and shipping.
  • Ensure compliance with Government regulations including SASO and customs.
  • Familiarity with certification processes with respect to IECEE, G-Mark etc
  • Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams for smooth shipment planning, timely arrivals, and inventory management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Finance, Logistics, and Category teams to ensure alignment of objectives.
  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of buyers and quality controllers.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.


Essential Qualifications and Skills:


  • Must have appliances and electronics background. Experience in a retail company will be a definite advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field (master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or private label management, preferably in retail.
  • Strong experience working with Chinese manufacturers and other global suppliers.
  • In-depth knowledge of international shipping, logistics, customs clearance, and compliance processes.
  • Proven negotiation skills and experience achieving target costs.
  • Strong analytical, forecasting, and planning skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-cultural management skills.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
