Key Roles & Responsibilities
Export
- Prepare pre-shipment and post-shipment documents and forms to ensure smooth movement of goods through import and export procedures.
- Prepare, process, and maintain export documents post-shipment, including:
- Commercial Invoice
- Packing List
- Insurance Certificate
- Certificate of Analysis (COA)
- Certificate of Origin (COO), if applicable
- GSP, if applicable
- Bill of Lading
- Fumigation Certificate and other required documents
- Submit documents to the bank after receipt of the Bill of Lading for onward delivery to the client.
- Prepare documents as per bank and customer requirements.
- Follow up with the bank for document lodgment reference numbers.
- Ensure proper preparation and maintenance of export documentation with banking reference numbers.
- Maintain export and import data in both physical and Excel formats.
- Coordinate with the bank for closing import–export transactions and obtaining realization certificates.
- Provide Shipping Bill and Bank Realization Certificate to the agent for availing ROA TEP Incentive.
- Possess good knowledge of DGFT and ICE-GATE websites.
- Handle renewal of documents such as IEC, RCMC, LUT No., UIN, and factory stuffing permissions.
- Follow up with customs and CHA for duty drawback receivables.
- Have knowledge and experience in ocean freight booking and contacts with direct shipping lines.
- Experience with export shipment movements in CFS/ICD and good contacts in various CFS locations.
- Experience with factory stuffing/dock stuffing export procedures and ability to manage good relationships with factory staff, CHA, shipping line staff, and transporters.
- Preference will be given to candidates with export self-clearance experience.
Import
- Coordinate with CHA agents for collecting original documents from the office when shipments reach port.
- Prepare E-Way bills and send them to CHA.
- Prepare LC applications and related documents; submit originals to the bank.
- Prepare indemnity bonds for containers and, after director approval, submit them to CHA for clearing.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to the factory.
- Communicate effectively with transporters and identify new transporters when required.
- Preference will be given to candidates with import self-clearance experience.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations Management, International Trade, or a related field preferred, or a Diploma in Export–Import Management.
Experience:
- Minimum 5–6 years of experience in end-to-end export–import processes and documentation.
Knowledge:
- Proficient in MS Office and email communication.
- Skilled in handling digital transactions.
- Thorough knowledge of export–import documentation.
- Understanding of customs duties and insurance.
- Knowledge of Indian and foreign trade policies.
Major Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Organizational and time management skills.
Other Requirements:
- Male candidates with a chemical background preferred.
- Candidates residing near Ghatkopar preferred.
