Import Officer

To independently manage and oversee all import operations, with a specialized focus on EFS (Export Facilitation Scheme) compliance, ensuring smooth clearance of consignments, duty exemptions, and accurate documentation in line with SROs and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end import process, including vendor communication, shipment tracking, and clearance under EFS.
• Prepare and file GDs, exemption certificates, and all documentation required for EFS compliance.
• Maintain EFS quota utilization, consumption reports, and reconciliations in line with FBR and customs requirements.
• Coordinate with customs authorities, clearing agents, freight forwarders, and banks for smooth import operations.
• Review and verify all shipping documents (invoice, packing list, BL/AWB, COO, Form-I, etc.).
• Monitor changes in SROs, customs duties, and import/export policies; update management accordingly.
• Prepare MIS reports, consumption statements, and present summaries for audits, compliance checks, and management decisions.
• Supervise Import Assistants and ensure accuracy in record-keeping and timely submissions.
• Ensure proper filing, documentation, and record maintenance for all EFS-related imports.
• Handle queries from auditors, regulators, and management regarding imports and EFS reconciliations.

Requirements:

• 4–6 years of experience in Import/Export documentation, with hands-on expertise in EFS.
• Strong command of WeBOC system, GD filing, and exemption processing under EFS.
• Excellent knowledge of customs regulations, SROs, and trade compliance.
• Strong negotiation and coordination skills with agents, banks, and government authorities.
• Ability to prepare detailed consumption reports and quota reconciliations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel & other reporting tools.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Education:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
• Professional certifications in Import/Export or Supply Chain will be an added advantage.
