As we expand our global sourcing capabilities, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Imports Specialist to manage and streamline our international procurement and import operations.
Job Summary:
The Imports Specialist will be responsible for handling the end-to-end import process, from supplier coordination to customs clearance and inventory handover. This role requires a deep understanding of import regulations, documentation, international logistics, and supplier management. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining full compliance with relevant import laws and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:Import Operations & Documentation
- Manage the complete import cycle – Purchase Order creation, shipment tracking, documentation, and delivery coordination.
- Ensure accurate preparation and verification of import documents (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, etc.).
- Coordinate with international suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery.
Customs & Compliance
- Ensure all import activities comply with customs regulations, trade laws, and company policies.
- Liaise with customs agents and government authorities for duties, tariffs, and clearance procedures.
- Handle HS code classification, duty calculations, and filing of import-related documentation.
Supplier Coordination & Logistics
- Build and maintain relationships with overseas vendors, ensuring quality standards and shipment timelines are met.
- Monitor shipping schedules, container bookings, and logistics updates to anticipate and resolve delays or issues.
- Optimize freight costs through effective vendor negotiation and logistics planning.
Inventory & Reporting
- Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure proper goods receipt and reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and documentation for audits and reporting.
- Provide regular updates to management on import status, timelines, and risks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in import operations, preferably in the furniture, home décor, or retail industry.
- In-depth knowledge of import documentation, INCO terms, HS codes, customs regulations, and logistics.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems; knowledge of import/trade software is a plus.
- Strong coordination, negotiation, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Familiarity with global sourcing practices, especially from countries like Turkey, China, Malaysia, or Italy (preferred).

Pay: Rs60,000.00 - Rs80,000.00 per month
