We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Import Specialist to manage and optimize our international procurement and import operations, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods.

Position Overview

The Import Specialist will be responsible for handling all import-related activities, including documentation, coordination with international suppliers, logistics partners, and customs authorities. This role requires expertise in international trade regulations, shipping documentation, and strong coordination skills to ensure smooth supply chain operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesImport Operations Management

  • Manage end-to-end import processes — from purchase order placement to goods delivery at warehouse/showroom.
  • Coordinate with international vendors, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs clearing agents.
  • Track and monitor shipments, ensuring timely arrival and minimizing demurrage or detention charges.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare, verify, and maintain import-related documentation (invoice, packing list, BL/AWB, COO, Form-E, insurance, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with Pakistan Customs, SBP, FBR, and other relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Liaise with banks for import-related payments (LCs, TTs, advance payments) and ensure proper record-keeping.

Vendor & Supplier Coordination

  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure product availability, shipment schedules, and quality compliance.
  • Negotiate shipping terms, freight rates, and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain strong relationships with international suppliers and logistics partners.

Inventory & Logistics Coordination

  • Work closely with warehouse and procurement teams to manage incoming goods, verify quantities, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely coordination for inland transportation and storage of imported goods.
  • Maintain accurate records of imported inventory in ERP or tracking systems.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare regular reports on imports, shipment status, costs, and delivery timelines.
  • Analyze import costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend process improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in import/export or logistics management, preferably in furniture, manufacturing, or retail industries.
  • Strong knowledge of import procedures, documentation, customs clearance, and SBP regulations.
  • Experience handling LCs, TTs, shipping documents, and HS codes.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP, Odoo, or similar).
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple shipments simultaneously.

Pay: Rs60,000.00 - Rs80,000.00 per month
