Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled In-House Counsel specializing as a Business Education Attorney to join our legal team on a contract basis. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support and guidance across various areas of law relevant to our educational initiatives and business operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive legal expertise, exceptional research and drafting skills, and the ability to navigate complex legal frameworks to ensure compliance and mitigate risks within our organization.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on diverse matters including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, litigation, and patent law.
  • Conduct thorough legal research utilizing tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development and compliance strategies.
  • Draft and review legal documents, contracts, policies, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance related to education laws and business operations.
  • Assist in negotiations with external parties to secure favorable terms while ensuring legal adherence.
  • Support internal legal administrative functions to streamline workflows and documentation processes.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments affecting the organization’s educational programs and business practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement legal strategies that align with organizational goals.

Skills

  • Proven expertise in estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, litigation, and patent law.
  • Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms for comprehensive legal analysis.
  • Excellent legal drafting and writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective negotiation abilities to manage external agreements and disputes.
  • Prior experience working within a law office environment or similar setting demonstrating legal administrative competence.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal issues and communicate findings clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while adhering to deadlines.
