IN-Sr Software Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Software Engineer – ServiceNow SAM / HAM is responsible for the end-to-end implementation, configuration, and ongoing ownership of ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM Pro) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM / HAM Pro). This role requires proven implementation experience, not just operational support, and plays a critical role in driving license optimization, audit readiness, and asset lifecycle governance across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute full lifecycle implementations of ServiceNow SAM Pro and HAM / HAM Pro, including design, build, testing, deployment, and postgolive stabilization.
• Implement and configure software license models, entitlements, normalization, reconciliation, and compliance reporting.
• Implement hardware asset lifecycle workflows, including procurement, onboarding, stockrooms, contracts, warranties, refresh, and disposal.
• Integrate SAM/HAM with CMDB, ITSM, Discovery, and procurement systems to ensure accurate and trusted data.
• Configure automation for license reclamation, renewals, audits, and exception handling.
• Build dashboards and KPIs to track cost savings, compliance posture, and asset lifecycle health.
• Partner with system integrators during implementation and assume full ownership post golive.
• Support ServiceNow platform upgrades by validating SAM/HAM compatibility and performing regression testing.
• Provide L3 support and continuous optimization for implemented SAM/HAM solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of ServiceNow engineering experience.
• Demonstrated endtoend implementation experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro and/or HAM (Core / HAM Pro).
• Experience delivering at least one full SAM and/or HAM implementation from design through production rollout.
• Strong ServiceNow development skills (JavaScript, Glide API, Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer).
• Experience working in enterprise, governed ServiceNow environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow certifications: CSA, CAD, SAM, HAM.
• Experience with CMDB, CSDM, and Discovery implementations.
• Experience working with Finance, Procurement, and Audit stakeholders.
