Job Summary
The Lamination In-Charge is responsible for overseeing day-to-day lamination operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety compliance, and efficient utilization of manpower, materials, and machines in a flexible packaging setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all lamination activities (Solvent-based / Solvent-less / Extrusion, as applicable)
- Plan daily production schedules as per order priorities
- Ensure proper machine settings, adhesive mixing, coating weight, and curing parameters
- Monitor quality of laminated films (bond strength, GSM, appearance, defects)
- Reduce wastage and improve productivity
- Coordinate with Printing, Slitting, Quality, and Maintenance departments
- Handle manpower allocation, shift planning, and operator training
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, safety, and housekeeping standards (5S)
- Troubleshoot lamination defects and machine breakdowns
- Maintain production records, reports, and batch traceability
- Ensure timely material availability (films, adhesives, solvents)
- Support audits (ISO / BRC / FSSC / customer audits if applicable)
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of lamination processes and materials
- Understanding of flexible packaging structures and adhesives
- Ability to lead and manage shop-floor teams
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Basic computer knowledge (production reports, emails)
- Quality- and safety-oriented mindset
Qualifications
- B.Tech (Preferred)
- Technical training in lamination machines is an added advantage
Experience
- 12+ years of experience in lamination within a flexible packaging industry
Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts (Day/Night)
- Factory / shop-floor environment
