Job Summary:
The Incharge – MRD will be responsible for overseeing the effective management, maintenance, and confidentiality of all patient medical records within the hospital. The role ensures compliance with hospital policies, legal requirements, and accreditation standards, while leading the MRD team to maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage daily operations of the Medical Records Department.
Ensure proper collection, indexing, storage, retrieval, and disposal of medical records.
Maintain confidentiality and security of all patient data and medical information.
Implement and monitor standardized documentation procedures in compliance with NABH/NABL and other regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and administrative departments to ensure timely and accurate record updates.
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual MRD reports to management.
Oversee the digitization and archiving of patient records for long-term data management.
Train and supervise MRD staff, ensuring efficient and ethical work practices.
Liaise with external audit and accreditation teams during inspections.
Handle medico-legal record requests in accordance with hospital and legal protocols.

Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Hospital Administration, Health Information Management, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in MRD operations; prior experience in a NABH-accredited hospital preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding, and healthcare data systems.
Proficiency in MS Office and hospital management software.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
