Summary
The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for developing and establishing new and existing production processes, methods and equipment design, along with associated improvements and enhancements. This position will assist in all aspects of our foundry procedures, compliances and measurements.

- Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency
- Assists in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training
- Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment
- Lead/Support the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
- Supports design, development and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods
- Lead implementation of new equipment and/or automation equipment in manufacturing.
- Assist with the design and development of new products and components from concept through production release.
- Ensure designs and equipment comply with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, OSHA standards and customer requirements.
- Improves utilization by studying work methods, testing modifications, designing new methods, recommending job restructuring
- Maintains current Plant Layout (AutoCAD), and develops future Plant Layout plans associated with Plant projects and increases customer demands / new products
- Lead continuous improvement programs (Kaizen – elimination of waste & 5’s) in alignment with business needs with experience in formal quality processes such as ISO, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other well-developed continuous improvement programs
- Sustain & Leverage improvement projects by training and guiding supervisors and operators
- Work with safety team, with a goal to improve ergonomics of workstations
Demonstrated ability to listen to and process other’s point of view
- Analyze labor requirements based on cycle time to meet customer demands. Work closely with Sourcing manager to perform demand and capacity analysis of resources, including headcount, equipment, and space.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods that are applied and activities that take place in manufacturing and services
- Analyses and suggests how to manufacture parts / products with maximum efficiency
- Enact quality control procedures to resolve production problems and minimize costs
- Design control systems to coordinate activities and production planning in order to ensure that products meet quality standards

Work Environment
This job operates in production manufacturing warehouse. May be required to wear common (PPE) Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
- Proficient using statistical analysis tools; Six Sigma certification a plus.
- Must be self-motivated, work well independently and have excellent time management skills. Industry experience with multiple types of materials processing (molding, metal processing, automation, and hand assembly processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills & demonstrated ability to develop and present material orally and in writing in an articulate manner
- Experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based tools
- Knowledge of manufactured products and processes.
- Knowledge of measuring tools and ability to read blue prints
- Ability to properly maintain records and document procedures, processes and other data.

Education/Experience
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree (industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or similar) Advanced technical training.
- Previous Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing engineering experience as a manufacturing engineer, industrial engineer, manufacturing process engineer, industrial process engineer, continuous improvement engineer, tooling engineer, etc.
- Strong understanding of engineering configuration management with the ability to convert engineering requirements into manufacturing instructions.
- Understanding of the relationship between engineering Bill of Materials and a manufacturing Bill of Materials.
- Any experience with SAP ERP or other ERP, MRP, MES (Manufacturing Enterprise System) applications as a user will be a plus.
