Industrial/Commercial HVAC Technician

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems and equipment. The HVAC Technician ensures that systems are installed and functioning properly, troubleshooting issues as they arise and ensuring compliance with safety codes and customer specifications.

Responsibilities:

Include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Install new HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC system issues, identifying faulty components and repairing or replacing parts.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and building codes to ensure proper system installations.
• Verify the accuracy of materials and parts received for projects.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including checking refrigerant levels and lubricating components.
• Ensure HVAC systems provide proper ventilation, heating, and cooling in the blast-resistant buildings without compromising structural integrity.
• Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical HVAC issues.
• Operate hand and power tools to install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical and electrical HVAC issues.
• Experience using HVAC diagnostic tools and hand/power tools for installation and repair.
• Understanding of HVAC system components, including compressors, motors, refrigerants, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications – EPA universal 608 certified

Education & Experience– At least two years of experience as HVAC technician, including installation, maintenance, and repair. High School Graduate, G.E.D or equivalent. HVAC Trade School preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Possess good vision and hearing (either naturally or corrected).
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
• Lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Constantly move on feet.
• Climb ladders (all types).
• Must be able to complete a full-day’s assignment of overhead work.
• Transit from employee parking areas to construction areas and gain access to all levels of the site/structure, even if the only means of access is via O.S.H.A-approved construction ladders, or stairs that are still under construction.
• Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
• Repetitive use of arms, legs, hands and fingers.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
