The Infant Teacher at Children's Land is entrusted with the vital responsibility of nurturing the youngest members of our community. This role demands a passionate individual who is adept at fostering a safe, loving, and stimulating environment where infants can flourish both emotionally and intellectually. The candidate should be well-versed with the DCFS requirements in Illinois to ensure the highest standards of childcare are met. Hours 9-6p.m.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Create and follow lesson plans that foster physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.
- Track infants' developmental milestones and maintain detailed records of their progress.
- Offer nurturing care, which includes feeding, changing diapers, and facilitating nap times.
- Always uphold the safety of infants by strictly adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic classroom environment to prevent the spread of germs and illnesses.
- Communicate with parents to keep them informed about their child's development and address any concerns.
- Work harmoniously with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and cooperative working environment.
- Craft and utilize educational materials to stimulate infants' senses and encourage learning.
- Organize activities that promote exploration and the development of motor skills.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in infant education and care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Previous experience working with infants or young children.
- Knowledge of DCFS requirements in Illinois.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and a genuine love for working with infants.
Skills:
- Lift and carry children weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods of time, run, and actively engage in play with children.
- Balance multiple tasks simultaneously (feeding, teaching, supervising) while remaining attentive and responsive.
- Transition quickly and easily between sitting (chair or floor) and standing positions.
- Effectively manage children’s challenging behaviors.
- Demonstrate empathy and strong interpersonal skills to foster supportive, positive interactions with children and parents.
- Strong observational and analytical skills.
