LOCATION: KONA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL | Data Processing POSITION STATUS: 1.00 | Permanent SALARY RANGE: BU03 | SR13 SALARY RATE: $46,800.00 (Annual Salary) based on the FTE JOB DUTIES:The purpose of position is to assist and provide analysis and technical support for the West Hawaii Region of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation's systems and network information processing needs. Responsibilities include improving, maintaining installed systems and analyzing needs for new systems and system enhancements, acquiring and directing the installation of new hardware and software, and implementation of training procedures. This position may be required to work shifts, weekends, and holidays. West Hawaii Region operates as a remote user of the Epic Care-Link EMR. In-house IT systems include but are not limited to enterprise-wide client/server systems that will link all departments such as Radiology, Radiation Oncology (Mosaiq), Pyxis, Inventory Software, UKG Kronos Time and Attendance System, Human Resources Systems, various Telemedicine Applications, and maintaining the Region's PBX systems and intranet. THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE: Applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated; the required education and experiences may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experiences are based on a 40-hour work week. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent diploma program. EXPERIENCE: One year of progressively responsible work experience (Paid, Intern, or volunteer) in any information technology related area. Preferred but not required that the work demonstrated knowledge and understanding of information technology principles, methods, techniques and practices; computer hardware, software and peripheral equipment; and personal computer, server, mini and/or mainframe operating systems. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE:Possession of the required amount of experience will not in itself be accepted as proof of qualification for a position. The applicant's overall experience must have been of such scope and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate that he/she has the ability to perform the duties of the position for which he/she is being considered. KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: KNOWLEDGE OF:Working knowledge of program testing methods and procedures on a mini/micro, mainframe, network and/or other computer systems; and available resources to search for information in resolving computer-related problems. ABILITY TO:Assess system problems and take corrective action; write and edit basic procedure language; and recognize position limitations and refer matters to a IT Specialist when situations deviate from established procedures, or in instances in which normal or usual methods cannot be used. Since the Administrative Review is a prerequisite to subsequent steps, failure to utilize this process will make you ineligible for subsequent appeals. The administrative review, formal complaint and/or appeals hearing will not necessarily postpone the recruitment process and/or rescind a selection. If you do not agree with the Administrative Review, you may file a Formal Compliant and then, if you are still not satisfied, you can appeal to the HHSC Merit Appeals Board.
