The Information Technology Manager reports to the Chief of Staff and serves as the organization’s lead internal technology operator and advisor. This role is responsible for assessing organizational technology needs, implementing and maintaining secure and effective IT systems, planning future technology improvements, and ensuring employees receive responsive day to day support. This person will also advise leadership on technology strategy, risk, efficiency, and modernization.
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Information Technology Manager with strong hands on expertise in Google Workspace and Apple Mac environments. This role is ideal for someone who can lead IT operations in a fast moving organization where MacBooks, Apple devices, and Google based collaboration tools are central to daily business operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting executives and staff, improving systems, managing vendors, driving security and governance, and helping the organization scale with the right tools and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze the technology needs of all departments and recommend, implement, and support solutions that improve reliability, security, efficiency, and user experience
Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Meet, Google Calendar, Google Admin, user provisioning, access management, security settings, and device policies
Manage and support Apple business environments, including MacBooks, iPhones, iPads, macOS configuration, troubleshooting, software deployment, device lifecycle management, and end user support
Maintain company hardware, software, SaaS applications, and core IT systems across a primarily Google Workspace and Apple based environment
Evaluate systems, workflows, and security posture to identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities, then propose and implement practical solutions
Lead technology upgrades, migrations, configuration improvements, and new system rollouts while keeping leadership informed of priorities, costs, and impact
Train employees on Google Workspace tools, Apple devices, cybersecurity best practices, and new technologies to improve adoption and reduce support friction
Champion the organization’s AI initiative by helping evaluate tools, developing usage policies, training staff, and tracking business impact and productivity gains
Oversee the IT budget and help prioritize technology investments that align with organizational goals
Support and maintain the IT infrastructure of the GSOF Headquarters and SOF Heritage Center
Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies, standards, and governance related to security, data management, acceptable use, device management, business continuity, and operational resilience
Manage vendor relationships from selection and negotiation through performance oversight, with a focus on value, reliability, and business fit
Lead or support data governance efforts to promote the strategic, secure, and responsible use of organizational data
Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees, including account setup, device deployment, access controls, and technology orientation
Provide responsive day to day technical support and escalation management for staff and leadership
